Unanticipated romance Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson called it quits in 2021 after shocking their fans with their relationship.

In August 2022, an insider told Us Weekly that "they peacefully split this week." After dating for nine months, the two decided to call it quits.

Kardashian and Davidson were trying to make things work from a distance until they made the choice to break ways. A different insider stated earlier in August that "Kim and Pete are in continuous communication," adding that their various "time zones and filming call times make chatting challenging."

Eight months after she filed for divorce from Kanye West, the former star of Keeping Up With the Kardashians was initially connected to the Saturday Night Live performer in October 2021. (The ex-couple, who married in 2014, had sons Saint and Psalm and daughters North and Chicago.)

While Davidson and Kardashian got along nicely over the years—he even dubbed Kim and Kanye the "cutest couple" when the spouses attended Kid Cudi's birthday party in 2019—the KKW Beauty entrepreneur connected with the Set It Up actor when she hosted Saturday Night Live.

According to a source who spoke to Us at the time, "He was a real professional the entire time they rehearsed and in between takes, but afterward, things turned flirtatious." Kim immediately agreed when Pete asked if they could hang out together after exchanging phone numbers.

Kardashian and Davidson were seen having dinner dates after a group Halloween outing. An insider informed Us that she was "falling for" him by mid-November 2021.

When they are together, "everything flows nicely," the source claimed.

West, meanwhile, made a number of public appeals to try to woo Kardashian back as their relationship heated up. The rapper also claimed that divorce papers were not served on him. The author of Selfish then filed paperwork to be deemed legally single while going through a divorce.

When Kardashian hosted SNL on October 9, 2021, Davidson and a kissing scene from Aladdin were featured.

Kardashian and Davidson were spotted together at Knott's Scary Farm in California with Kourtney Kardashian and her fiance Travis Barker and other friends less than a month after the reality star made her debut on the sketch comedy show. Sources claim that at the time, their connection was platonic, but after the pair were seen holding hands on a roller coaster, romance rumors began to circulate.

Kim and Davidson were spotted dining at Campania on his hometown of Staten Island. The next day, they had dinner at Manhattan's Zero Bond with friends.

When Kardashian assisted Davidson in celebrating his 28th birthday with her mother, Kris Jenner, and Flavor Flav, things between the twosome appeared to be heating up.

The rapper described the gathering to Entertainment Tonight by saying, "The whole night, I was extremely honored to be in their presence." I could argue, for example, that Pete Davidson enjoys some Flavor Flav. Flavor Flav this, Flavor Flav that, Flavor Flav this, Flavor Flav that is how he goes about everything. So Kim said, "Okay, well, you're getting Flavor Flav for your birthday." I arrived there as a result of a request she made for me. The birthday present was me.

Through the rest of 2021, the couple made news for a variety of activities on the East and West Coasts, drawing attention when they went to a movie on Staten Island.

At the time, a source told Us that "they're obviously not disguising their romance." They appear to desire nothing more than to be able to enjoy each other's company and do things that any other couple would do.

The two took a quick trip to the Bahamas to start the new year. Days before to the getaway, a source told Us that Kim and Davidson's relationship was "becoming serious."

The insider claimed that things had "certainly escalated quickly but in a healthy, joyful way." They are currently just enjoying each other's company and observing how things develop.

Kim and Pete are now working well together. Their connection is simple and they are highly in step with one another. In January 2022, a source told Us that the couple were "a really terrific pair" and that they were "growing closer and closer." The source added that the actor had "connected with her entire family."

A source told Us that Davidson was considering buying some West Coast real estate after the pair attended a dinner party at Jeff Bezos' house. The insider said, "Pete has been spending more time in L.A. to be near Kim, and he's seeking to find a property there." They have undoubtedly become more serious.

For the first time, the Selfish author opened more about her romance with Davidson, telling Variety that viewers of Hulu's The Kardashians would be able to witness more of how their relationship developed. She admitted to the site, "I have not filmed with [Pete]." "I'm not against it either. He simply doesn't do that. But if an event were taking place and he was present, he wouldn't urge the cameras to go. Though it wouldn't be for this season, I believe I may be filming something really amazing soon.
